Nestled among the rolling hills of San Miguel, just outside Paso Robles, VineDance Vineyard is a working Central Coast vineyard and orchard producing grapes, olives, lavender, and an abundance of seasonal fruit. But what makes their fruit especially meaningful to us is the path it takes to get here. The owners of VineDance live right here in Encinitas and personally bring their harvest south with them. That means the pears, peaches, and apples aren't moving through large distribution centers or spending days bouncing between warehouses and trucks. They’re harvested by the grower, driven home to our community, and passed along to us. The farm may be a few hours north, but the food system behind it is remarkably local: a direct relationship between grower and eater, with very little in between. We’re excited to share a taste of VineDance Vineyard’s Central Coast harvest in our CSA boxes and to support the kind of simple, human-scale food system we believe in.
