Small regenerative farm in San Diego growing organic vegetables and fruit, rooted in community connection, soil health, and creating meaningful relationships between people and their food.
Ranchito Milkyway Farm is a small, community-rooted farm in San Diego County, growing organic vegetables and gleaned fruit with a focus on freshness, flavor, and connection. Founded in 2021 by farmers Alyssa and Christian, the farm was built around a simple idea: that food has the power to reconnect people—to the land, to each other, and to something larger than themselves.
Using regenerative, no-till practices and organic inputs, the farm prioritizes soil health as the foundation for growing nutrient-dense, flavorful food. Techniques like composting, interplanting, and natural farming help create a resilient ecosystem while avoiding synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.
Each week, the farm comes to life through its Sunday farmstand and CSA program, where customers can walk the land, choose their produce, and connect directly with the people growing their food. This direct relationship is central to the farm’s mission—offering not just vegetables, but a deeper sense of place, transparency, and community.
At its core, Ranchito Milkyway is about more than growing food—it’s about cultivating connection, care for the earth, and a more grounded, human-centered food system.
