Mountain Meadow Mushroom Farm

For more than seventy years, Mountain Meadow Mushroom Farm has been a cornerstone of organic mushroom cultivation in San Diego County. Founded in 1952 and located in Escondido, the farm specializes in growing certified organic specialty mushrooms while championing a regenerative approach to agriculture. Their growing process diverts agricultural waste from the waste stream and transforms it into nutrient-rich compost, creating a closed-loop system that benefits both people and the planet. Today, Mountain Meadow produces a diverse range of fresh mushrooms alongside mushroom powders, tinctures, beverages, snacks, spawn, substrate, and growing materials—all made with a focus on quality and whole mushroom fruiting bodies. Beyond production, they are passionate educators, regularly welcoming visitors to the farm to learn about mushroom cultivation, composting, and the remarkable role fungi play in healthy ecosystems.
