Heal the Earth

Heal The Earth is a nonprofit social enterprise working to strengthen Southern California’s local food system by supporting farmers, improving food access, and building more resilient regional agriculture. Through partnerships with local farms, food hubs, and community organizations, Heal The Earth focuses on reconnecting people to the source of their food while creating economic opportunities for growers and food makers alike. One of the ways their work reaches our community is through the incredible avocados we source through Foodshed Cooperative. These avocados — grown through Heal The Earth’s farming operations at Wild Acres Farm — have become a staple within many of our CSA boxes and are consistently some of the most flavorful, creamy, and fresh avocados we’re able to share with our members. Beyond the produce itself, what we deeply appreciate about Heal The Earth is their larger vision for rebuilding local food infrastructure. Their work spans far beyond farming alone — exploring new models for food distribution, farmer support, entrepreneurship, and direct community connection. Organizations like theirs are helping lay the groundwork for a more regional, cooperative, and human-centered food system here in San Diego County.
