EUSD Farm Lab

Farm Lab is a 10-acre educational farm and interactive learning center in Encinitas, operated by the Encinitas Union School District. Designed as a living classroom, it connects students directly to the origins of their food through hands-on experiences in farming, ecology, and environmental stewardship. Rooted in the district’s DREAMS framework—Design, Research, Engineering, Art, Math, and Science—Farm Lab integrates agriculture into a broader, interdisciplinary learning model. Students engage in activities ranging from soil science and regenerative practices to entrepreneurship and food systems, building both practical skills and a deeper awareness of how food is grown. The farm also functions as a working organic production site, growing food that supports school meal programs while demonstrating the real-world impact of local agriculture. Through its blend of education, farming, and community engagement, Farm Lab plays a vital role in cultivating the next generation of growers, eaters, and stewards of the land.
