Behneman Farm

Behneman Farm is a multigenerational family farm rooted in San Diego County agriculture since the early 1970s. Based in Valley Center, the farm has spent decades cultivating citrus, avocados, greens, and a wide variety of seasonal produce that regularly appears throughout local farmers markets and regional food distribution networks. What we especially appreciate about Behneman Farm is the consistency and freshness of their produce. Through partnerships with Foodshed Cooperative and the broader local food community, their citrus and seasonal harvests help strengthen the regional food system that small farms like ours rely upon. Their tangelos, oranges, avocados, and vegetables reflect the kind of quality that comes from farms deeply connected to the land they steward. Like many family farms throughout Southern California, Behneman represents something increasingly rare and important — generations of agricultural knowledge carried forward through hard work, resilience, and a commitment to feeding local communities.
