Passion Fruit Salad Dressing
July 28, 2026
A sweet-tart tropical dressing of passion fruit, olive oil, lime, vinegar, and honey—ready in minutes in the blender.

This follows Marian Blazes’s Passion Fruit Salad Dressing on The Spruce Eats—a quick blender vinaigrette with the sweet-tart punch of passion fruit (maracuyá).
CSA tips: Fresh passion fruit varies in size; you may need a few more to get enough juice. Frozen passion fruit pulp or puree works when fresh fruit is scarce. Try it on strawberry–spinach salads, pear and blue cheese, or simple greens with mango and toasted nuts. For serving ideas and nutrition notes, see the original post.
Passion Fruit Salad Dressing
Sweet-tart passion fruit juice blended with olive oil, lime, vinegar, and honey—about 1 cup, enough for several salads. Adapted from Marian Blazes at The Spruce Eats.
Ingredients
- 2 passion fruits (or ¼ cup passion fruit puree)
- ½ cup olive oil
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 2 tbsp honey
- ¼ tsp salt
Method
- If using fresh fruit: cut the passion fruits in half and scrape the pulp and seeds into a small saucepan.
- Heat the pulp over medium-low, stirring often, until almost boiling. Remove from heat.
- Strain through a fine-mesh sieve; discard the seeds (or save them—they’re edible and crunchy). Let the juice cool.
- Add the passion fruit juice (or ¼ cup puree), olive oil, lime juice, vinegar, honey, and salt to a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth.
- Refrigerate up to 1 week. Stir or shake before using.
